last days of summer

  August 21, 2010

Oh summer, how you flee so fast!!!  Elle starts KINDER on Monday....sniff sniff.  Can you believe it??  I intentionally planned a mellow summer for us, so I can spend some quality time with my big girl before she heads out into the big bad world.  Yes, our kindergarten is FULL day!  But Elle is a rockstar, and she can handle it like the best of them!

Stalking the teacher: yes I am a stalker. So out of all the kindergarten teachers at our elementary school (there are five of them) I hear about how amazing this one teacher is over and over again.  Well, my Ellie Jay deserves nothing but the best....so I set out on a mission.  The week before school starts there is a kinder event called kintergarten roundup. The purpose is to evaluate each future student so that the kindergarten classrooms end up pretty level among ability.  Rumor has it, that if a paticular teacher evaluates you, the chance of you getting that teacher is pretty darn good.  BINGO.....I had a plan!  The day before round up, me and the girls took a self "tour" of Marshall Lane (our elementary).  Yeah, I had been there a bunch of times, but they didn't need to know that.  I just so happened to stop by Mrs. Mund's room (the AMAZING teacher) and introduced myself, and Elle.  I told Mrs. Mund how I was so excited to volunteer, and even possibily become room mom.  Then Elle showed off her amazing charm and grace....and we were set, hook line and sinker.  The next day was roundup, and what do you know....Mrs. Mund grabbed Elle out of a handful of waiting future kindergarteners to be evaluated.  Step 1 - accomplished. Yesterday was the big classroom reveal, and....drumroll please......WE GOT MRS. MUND!  Mission completed!

Now I got to stay good to my word and become that room mom....guess it is worth it.....only the best for my girl!

Baby boy's room

  August 21, 2010

Now that we are rearing up for the homestretch, Tommy and I are working on baby boy's nursery!  One guess what the theme is........STANFORD FOOTBALL!!  Room colors will be cardinal, white and black.....not traditional nursery colors so thank goodness for ETSY because I am custom ordering the most amazing things for him.  I promise to take pictures and post them once we are 100% completed with my husband's man room....wait I mean, nursery.

30 weeks and counting....

  August 16, 2010

Hit a huge milestone this week for baby boy......we are now 30 weeks!  HUGE for Tommy and myself because we almost had Brooke at 28 weeks (when I was hospitalized), and then actually had her at 32 weeks.  Each week from here on out is an amazing blessing, a gift.

Silicon Valley Swim League Championships

Elle competed in the Championship swim meet this weekend and did awsome.  The SVSL league is made up of six teams, and overall our team, BAY, came in second place.  Elle did fantastic, yet again!!  As the only five year old to compete in the 6 and under division, Elle took home fourth place in backstroke (breaking her personal best time!) and fifth place in freestyle.  She also swam her first competitive 25 of breast stroke and did great.  Her fourth and fifth placeing earned her a spot in the 2010 SVSL All Star Team for her age bracket.  We are taking the month of august off of swim team, but can't wait to come back in September!!  We are so excited to be a part of Swim South Bay, and love how much fun Elle has in the water and with her team.
